BrightSpec Scientists to Present at ISMS

May 31, 2016 – CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – BrightSpec Inc. announced today that Dr. Justin Neill, CTO and Dr. Brent Harris, Director of Applications, will present work detailing performance and applications of FT-MRR spectroscopy at the 71st International Symposium on Molecular Spectroscopy, taking place at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, from 20-24th of June. Dr. Neill will be chairing a session on chirped-pulse Fourier transform millimeter wave spectroscopy, the academic field in which FT-MRR has its roots.

The topic of Dr. Justin Neill’s oral presentation on June 24th is frequency band performance comparisons for room temperature FT-MRR spectroscopy, in which he will compare and contrast results from systems operating over a variety of ranges: 75-110, 260-290, and 520-580 GHz. The implication of these differences in optimizing performance for specific applications will be explained. Dr. Harris’ oral presentation on June 22nd focuses on the identification and quantitation of low volatility impurities in a pharmaceutically relevant powder mixture using thermal evolution (TEv) sampling for introduction of these low volatility samples into the FT-MRR spectrometer.

BrightSpec is also pleased to be a sponsor for the 71st anniversary of this symposium, and will present its millimeter wave product operating in the 75-100 GHz range, the BrightSpec One Discovery Series, at the exhibit supporting the conference. BrightSpec scientists will present the capabilities of the system in a live demo during a Lunch and Learn session on June 21st. Additional information on the microwave product range, including chiral characterization will be available at the exhibit.  Also attending ISMS will be Robin Pulliam, Shelby Fields, Matt Muckle, Linda Kidder, and Bob Lloyd.
